Why should I book a Makeup Artist for my wedding?

Well let’s start with the simple fact that this is completely up to you if you do or don’t. Do you feel confident doing your own makeup on your big day? If the answer is no, then I’d recommend a professional makeup artist!

Makeup artists who specialise in bridal are used to being a part of someone’s big day. They are more clued up on timing, with me for example you’ll be sent timings for the bridal parties makeup’s so you know what will be happening on one of the most exciting mornings of your life! The bridal morning needs to run smoothly, to ensure everyone is glammed up in a timely manner, we don’t want to be late do we! I personally carry a bridal emergency kit which includes scissors, sewing needles, plasters, Gaviscon, Buscopan, paracetamol, sanitary products - you name it I probably have it!

Its the attention to detail for me. From the initial contact, to the trial, to the lead up to your big day & of course the big day. You need to know your makeup artist is more advanced in weddings to understand how all of these elements work together and make your wedding day as special as possible.

The wedding morning is so fun, but it is also all hands on deck. Everyone has a role to play! The hair stylist and makeup artist usually work together, communicating with who’s going next for them. Sometimes we will even share our timetables beforehand so we have it all in order.

Having a professional makeup artist for your wedding takes the stress away for you. After your trial you’ll feel confident that not just yourself, but everyone in your bridal party will love their makeup. Your makeup needs to be photo ready, this is so important to where your photographer is involved. Why pay a professional photographer, but not a professional makeup artist?

& a top tip… never trust the bridesmaid who offers to do your wedding makeup for you!
