Terms & Conditions

By reading these terms and conditions and thereafter signing them, you have agreed to them and acknowledged them.

Making a booking

Joanne will require a non refundable booking fee from you, once you have agreed to her full quote and your date will be saved with her from when you book. Accepting your quote and signing the contract is your agreement to her Terms and Conditions.

Your wedding date is confirmed only once Joanne has received your booking fee. This is to be paid by bank transfer. This will be confirmed with a booking confirmation, and your unique WedQuarters log in. Under no circumstances will the non refundable booking fee be refunded if the client cancels. The booking fee will then be redeemed against the final invoice for the wedding day.

All further payments after the booking fee are non-refundable.

After your bridal makeup trial, your WedQuarters will be updated to reflect the final payment and schedule for the wedding morning. This is your opportunity to amend any miscommunication or make amendments to your booking.

Important: when you accept the quote on your WedQuarters it can be subject to change, if your bridal party numbers change, or order for the day changes and the need for a hotel the evening before is required. It is final only at the point of booking, before we have discussed the finer details are your trial.

Balance & Payments

The full balance of your booking is to be paid no less than 30 days before the wedding date. This is implied under all circumstances. The date your invoice is due will be detailed on your WedQuarters.

Cheques are not accepted.

Bank transfers only, to my business bank account.

Joanne reserves the right to amend her pricing should your wedding fall on a bank holiday weekend and/or Christmas. This is an extra £100 charge but you will be aware of this before paying the non refundable booking fee.

Additional charges

Travel time £30 per hour

For journeys over 1.5 hours each way.

Location move £50

Complete change in location, this is where you start getting ready at a different address and need to move to the venue to use their facilities to finish getting ready.

Additional mileage would be charged in your quote also. I have put a rough guide of 45 minutes for the time this takes.

Bank holiday fee £100

For any bookings that fall on a bank holiday weekend Friday-Monday and/or prime dates at Christmas and new year.

Minimum Booking

Joanne has the right to insist on a minimum booking size.

For all bookings made from the 1st October 2024, the minimum booking fee is the Simplicity package. From 01/08/2025, the minimum booking fee is bride + 3 on the wedding day, travel and bridal trial preview are charged additionally.

The minimum booking fee will be a higher amount if your booking is on a bank holiday and/or Christmas due to the bank holiday fee.

Cancellations

If you unfortunately need to cancel your wedding, you will forfeit your non refundable booking fee in any circumstances, and the below table will be referred too for remaining payments:

Cancellations within 3 months of the wedding day - the full invoiced payment will be due

Cancellations within 6 months of the wedding day - 50% of the invoiced payment will be due

Travel

The cost of Joanne's travel is covered by the client. Travel is charged at 60p from her postcode BB4 and the same for the return journey.

Travel costs per hour are £30, this is charged if the journey is over 1.5 hours each way. It is also payable for bookings of  3 people or less, in the circumstance of a ‘full makeup booking’ which doesn’t include the bride unless the minimum booking fee is covered.

Parking costs are chargeable to the client. Joanne will always try to find the cheapest option, but her kit is heavy so it also needs to be the closest to your venue.

My central Manchester parking fee is £20 and will be added to your quote at the time of booking.

Joanne asks for the location she will be travelling to for the trial (group trials only) and for the wedding day, and will send this with her full quote to you.

Joanne can travel anywhere.

Accommodation

In certain circumstances Joanne will require accommodation the evening before your wedding, as an example if your ceremony is at 11am and you have a bridal party of 5, this means she will need 5 hours for makeup. If your venue is a 2 hour drive away, this means being on the road at 3am, and a get up time of 2am. This is a suitable request for accommodation to be paid the evening before. The accommodation will be booked and agreed after your trial, to which the client will book directly with the hotel using their card details, but Joanne’s contact information. Joanne will always try to stay at the cheapest option where possible and within reason (premier inn, holiday inn etc)

Extra Artists

For larger bookings Joanne may require extra help of another makeup artist. Joanne will do her best to find an additional MUA who will mirror the same pricing as Joanne, however this is not guaranteed and is not Joanne’s responsibility. Additional artists require a minimum of 4 people or the equivalent of their minimum booking fee. Joanne will discuss this with you upon booking.

If this artist is travelling separately, they will require extra travel expenses separate to Joanne's.

The make-up artists Joanne uses are as experienced as her and she has personally worked with them in the beauty industry previously. You will receive an invoice from the artist seperately to Joanne’s and their bank details so payment can be made directly to them. Joanne charges an additional fee of £50 to arrange this, due to the communication, scheduling and admin involved. You also have the option to arrange a second artist yourself, but Joanne requires her minimum booking fee at all times.

Artist Illness

In the highly unlikely circumstance Joanne is ill on your wedding day she will make sure you have a replacement make-up artist, or suggestions or makeup artists who have confirmed their availability for your wedding date. Joanne cannot guarantee their pricing, they are expected to give you their own quote for their services.

Your wedding day payment made to Joanne will be refunded, not including your trial as this service would have been fulfilled.

Your Bridal Trial

Joanne will contact you to book your trial in.

It is the clients responsibility to inform the artist of any allergies, medical conditions or sensitivities.

Lash application is included in the price for the make-up service. Joanne is always happy to provide different styles of lashes from individual to strip lashes, natural and glam styles to cater for all ages and looks.

The trial is normally 4-6 months before the wedding date. This will take place at my home address in Rossendale, Lancashire. Joanne will travel to you for your trial, if the booking is a group trial of 3+. Joanne can allow you to bring 1 guest with you to your trial. Please note, no children can attend any appointments at my home studio. You will be asked to re book if you bring more than 1 guest or any children to your trial.

If for the unlikely reason you aren't happy with the trial make-up or services, the cost of the trial will not be refunded as Joanne has provided a make-up service. From that moment your wedding date will become available to other brides. The non refundable booking fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Bad Weather

Bad weather is unfortunately out of Joanne’s hands and may affect her ability to travel to you. If it

is your wedding day, Joanne will check the forecast throughout the winter and be prepared for any snow etc and keep you continuously updated. If Joanne needs to cancel your booking, you will be refunded all monies where a service hasn’t been carried out. Joanne has stayed at hotels the evening before weddings to make sure she is there for her brides and will do this in the future if needs be, to which she would half the cost of the emergency accommodation required with the client.

If it is for your trial Joanne will request to rearrange for an alternative date that suits you both at your earliest convenience.

Social Media

Photographic/video images of the client, members of the booking or event may be used by the artist on social media unless the client has withdrawn their consent, this can be done via email.

Joanne has the right to contact all photographers and videographers to ask permission for use of their images/videos and tag name credits.

Kit Breakages

If any of Joanne’s kit is damaged by the client or their party, the full item cost will be due before any more services are carried out. This includes touching any of Joanne’s open products/palettes due to cross contamination. Breakages include any lighting and electrical items.

Wedding insurance

Joanne expects all couples who secure their date with her to have wedding insurance. Joanne will not be held liable if you do not have wedding insurance, and need to cancel your wedding once any payments have been made.
